Aistear

Young children learn best through hands-on, active and meaningful learning experiences. In our Junior and Senior Infant classrooms we provide a play-based, stimulating and active learning environment that can allow children to flourish and reach their full potential. We do this through the use of the Aistear Curriculum Framework.

The framework also provides guidelines on supporting children’s learning through partnerships with parents, interactions, play, and assessment. The framework is child-centred and supports play-based learning through enjoyable and challenging experiences. This enables children to grow and develop as confident and competent learners. Aistear is an Irish word meaning ‘journey’, and reflects that children embark on a life long journey of learning from a very young age.

The children in our infant classroom continue to flourish through the use of the Aistear Curriculum Framework.
