Drumadore

We had so much fun with Drumadore, the Parents Association kindly organised this fun event for us!

Arts Day

We had great fun at Arts Day. We brought in lots of junk art and were tasked with constructing a village. We worked in small groups and decided what buildings might be needed in a village. Once we agreed on the type of building we wanted the fun really began, were became architects and designers. We had lots of fun working in groups and problem solving.

We were really lucky to have a parent come in teach us about the Polish tradition of Wycinanki Paper cutting. This is typically done around Easter time and is an inexpensive way to brighten up homes. It was lots of fun to learn a new skill!

Arts Day in 3rd class!

Arts Day in 3rd class!

We were lucky enough to have a lot of very talented visitors on 10th March for Arts Day. We learned all about graphic drawing using Sketchpad on iPads, we learned about wood turning, knitting and fabric design and also graphic design for clothing and Lego!! We have some very artistic people in our school community and I think we were all left feeling very inspired and certainly more knowledgeable about some different art forms we might not have previously been aware of!

A huge thank you to all who gave up their time to come in and show us their wonderful skills.
Have a look at some of the children and visitors in action here.

January in Room 7

January in Room 7

In room 7 this month we have enjoyed playing some phonics games during literacy groups. We’ve also been practicing buying things with money, and giving change from 50cent and 1euro in our classroom shop.
