Galway Science and Technology Festival

We had a fantastic time taking part in the Galway Science and Technology  Festival. First and Second Class have been busy learning about microbes and we undertook lots of experiments which show us just how important it is to wash our hands. We learned the four main types of microbes are Bacteria, Protozoa, Virus and Fungi.

Happy Halloween

We had a busy October and had a very exciting party to celebrate Halloween. We have been learning about Autumn and all the amazing things that happen in nature during this time. We have been going on a Friday nature walk to spot the changes happening all around us. We have been learning about hedgehogs and made some using clay. We even made some homes for them to live in.

We are also very excited to have Salthill Knocknacarra come in teach us some football skills. We are having so much fun every Friday morning.

We love Science in First Class and we have been doing lots of experiments too. We have been really enjoying the crisp Autumn weather and got out and made some trees using twigs so we could label them later in the classroom.

A First Class Week

It was great seeing all our friends after the summer break and hearing about our summer adventures. We have had a busy week. We loved our story If I built a School. We worked in groups and designed our schools and then we built them using Lego. We love working together and using our imagination.
