We have been having lots of fun in Room 6 for Book Week. We have been doing lots more DEAR time and have really enjoyed Room 14 visiting us each day.
How do you slow down a snow woman melting? Hmmm….Do you put a coat on her? Will it make her melt slower or quicker? Or will it not make a difference at all? We had a class discussion and we all voted whether putting a coat on her would make a difference. Most people voted that it would make her melt quicker because she would be warmer. One person thought it wouldn’t make a difference and two people thought it would make her melt slower.
We were all surprised to learn that the coat does NOT make the snow woman warmer. It just keeps her at the same temperature for longer!
We are having great fun for Science Week. Check out what we have been up to in Room 5 and 6!
We have had a busy start back after the break. We have been learning all about the different materials needed for the construction of houses. Today we became architects and got to design our very own home. We had to firstly decide what type of home we would build; a semi-detached, a detached, a bungalow, an apartment, a caravan, a cottage or a farm house. Then we had to decide what materials we would use; cement blocks, stone or bricks. We had lots of fun working with our buddies!
Then the real fun started and we began constructing our homes!
Check back next week to see how they turned out!
