WELCOME TO KNOCKNACARRA NATIONAL SCHOOL
St. John the Apostle, Knocknacarra NS, Western Distributor Road, Galway will begin the Enrolment Process for our Junior Infants class for the 2020-21 school year on Thursday, Dec. 12th, 2019.
Our school’s Enrolment & Admissions Policy 2020 and our online application form can be accessed via the Enrolment section of this website.
All applicants will receive a Confirmation of Interest form via post. This ensures that your child’s application will remain on the school Record of Applications. Those who submit completed applications and Confirmation of Interest Forms on or before 2pm on Thursday, January 16, 2020 will be eligible for a place in Junior Infants 2020-21.
We extend a warm welcome to you and your child to Knocknacarra NS. It is our aim that your child will be extremely happy in our school and will achieve his/her full potential by being happy, sociable and respectful in our school’s pleasant and stimulating learning environment. There is a strong sense of community and a high level of co-operation between staff, pupils, parents and visitors.
New Primary Language Curriculum: The Department of Education and Skills published a leaflet for parents on the New Primary Language Curriculum for English and Irish (Junior Infants to Second Class). It explains the curriculum changes and offers advice to parents on supporting their children’s language development at home.
Help My Kid Learn: I would like to highlight another excellent web site, Help My Kid Learn, which brings together relevant information for parents and the wider community to support children’s literacy and numeracy development.
